A FISHERMAN was found drowned after falling from a boat, while fishing in the Pulau Jerejak waters, George Town, yesterday.
Penang Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director Abd Razak Mohamed said they were alerted to the fact that M. Rajendran, 56, had got into difficulties.
“Upon arrival at the scene at 3.15pm, we found the victim’s body floating in the sea near the boat. The victim had gone fishing with a friend,” he said in a statement today.
He added that according to the victim’s friend, who witnessed the incident, the man fell into the sea after his legs got stuck in a fishing net.
